PYSRC (Pyongyang Spine Rehabilitation Center)
The mission of PYSRC is to raise up children that are suffering from cerebral palsy, autism, and other developmental disabilities in North Korea and to build the foundation for rehabilitation education.
Previously, we had difficulties in serving children with cerebral palsy due to the lack of space and facilities. Finally, this year in 2020 the building project for the hospital has completed. We now have sufficient facilities for children to come and receive treatment.
However, we are facing many setbacks due to the global pandemic, which has caused many challenges including border closings. We are in the final stages of shipping medical equipment into Pyongyang, but due to the closure, we have been unable to finish shipping needed medical equipment and furniture. We are still in need of more rehabilitation equipment and supplies.
IGNIS is engaging with Children’s Provincial Hospitals in 12 cities across the country.
